The short version. You bought a game. It is yours to play, on as many of your own devices as you like, for as long as you like. Do not resell it or pass copies around. Your save file belongs to you. If the game does not work, we will refund you. Nothing here takes away rights your country gives you as a consumer.
This agreement is between you and Bodholdt Labs LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us"), the developer of Towerwright: Carrier Tycoon (the "game"). It applies to copies bought directly from towerwright.com.
If you got the game from the App Store, Google Play, Steam or the Microsoft Store, that store's own terms govern your purchase, including refunds. This page is then just a description of what we intend, and where the two disagree, the store's terms win.
Reverse engineering is permitted to the extent the law where you live permits it, and we will not try to contract around that.
We own the game. You own your copy of it and everything it writes on your device, including your save file. We claim no rights over your save, and the game gives you an Export save to file button precisely so that leaving is always possible.
The game includes open-source software and public-domain art, listed in full under
Settings → Credits & licences inside the game and in the THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md
file that ships with it. Those components keep their own licences, which this agreement does not
override.
For direct purchases:
The game is provided "as is". We have tested it as carefully as we know how, but we cannot promise it is free of faults or that it will run on every configuration.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of this agreement is limited to what you paid for the game.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection, those rights apply in full and are unaffected by anything written here.
Your progress is stored on your device. On iPhone and iPad it is also copied to your own iCloud account so it follows you between your Apple devices; on Android the system backup may hold a copy in your own Google account. We never receive either. See the privacy policy.
Save files can be lost — by device failure, by uninstalling, or by a bug. The game keeps a rolling previous-save backup and lets you export to a file, and we recommend using it. We cannot restore a lost save for you, because we never had a copy.
If we change this agreement, the version you accepted when you bought the game continues to apply to that purchase. Dated versions stay published at this address.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
