Towerwright collects no gameplay, save, analytics, advertising, or diagnostic data.
Last updated: 9 August 2026 — clarified offline play, iPhone/iPad save sync, and Android backup. See Save sync and backup. We operate no account, save, or gameplay-data backend.
The game collects no personal information, gameplay telemetry, diagnostics, or save data. We operate no account or gameplay-data back end and have no player profile to identify you with. Platform save services may copy the save through your own Apple or Google account; we are not a party to that copy. As explained under Network access, our website or optional desktop update request necessarily exposes ordinary HTTP request metadata such as IP address and user agent.
So the game can remember your progress, it writes the following to storage that belongs to the app. It stays on your device unless you have the save sync described in Save sync and backup, in which case a copy also sits in your own Apple or Google account:
| Stored item | What it is | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
fbr_save |
Your game: cash, stores, towers, coverage, region, prestige, era, settings. | Browser local storage; on mobile and desktop apps, app-private storage. |
fbr_save_prev |
A backup of your previous save, so a corrupted save can be recovered. | Same as above. |
fbr_telemetry |
A local play diary — up to 25 recent sessions, each holding a timestamp, session length, and which in-game city you reached. It is used only to display your own stats. It is never uploaded. | Same as above. |
None of this contains your name, email, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier, or any device identifier. None of it is transmitted to us — we have no save or gameplay-data endpoint. On Apple and Android devices a copy may be held in your own iCloud or Google account, as described in Save sync and backup.
Gameplay makes no request to a Towerwright account, analytics service, advertising network, crash reporter or developer-operated save server. All code and 3D assets ship inside the app and load from local storage.
There are two exceptions, and neither sends save, gameplay, or diagnostic data to us.
towerwright.com for the
current version number. It runs only when you press it — never on launch and never in the
background — and it sends nothing but the ordinary request your operating system would make to fetch
any web page. Copies installed from the App Store, Google Play, Steam or the Microsoft Store
do not have this button at all, because those stores handle updates themselves. One honest caveat: if you play the browser version, or use the direct desktop build's update check, the web server will — like any web server — see the ordinary request information needed to respond (such as IP address and user agent). That is a function of delivering a web resource, not gameplay telemetry, and we do not use it to build a player profile. Installed apps otherwise load their game code and assets locally.
So a new phone does not mean starting over, your saved game can be copied to an account you already own. In every case it is your account, the copy moves between your devices, and it does not pass through us — we run no save-sync server and never receive it.
| Platform | What happens | Who holds the copy | Turning it off |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad | When iCloud key-value storage is available, your save is written there so the same progress can appear on your other Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID. Roughly 3 KB of game state; no personal data. | Apple, in your iCloud account, governed by Apple’s privacy policy. | Settings → your name → iCloud, or sign out of iCloud. The game then keeps the save on the device only and continues to work normally. |
| Android | When operating-system backup is enabled and available, Android may copy app data through your Google account so Android/Google can restore it after installation on a device. Availability, timing, and restore behavior are controlled by Android, Google, and your account settings. | Google, in your Google account, governed by Google’s privacy policy. | Android Settings → Google → Backup. |
| Mac, Windows, Linux, browser | No sync. The save stays on that machine. | Nobody but you. | Nothing to turn off. |
What gets copied is exactly the save described above — cash, stores, towers, coverage, region, prestige, era and settings. It contains no name, no email, no contacts, no location and no device or advertising identifier, because the game never collects those in the first place.
Saves do not sync between Apple and Android, or to a computer: those are separate systems, and we have built no service to bridge them. To move a save across them, use Settings → Export save to file and import the file on the other device.
Towerwright is suitable for a general audience and contains no ads, purchases, chat, social features or user-generated content. The game sends us no save, gameplay, analytics, advertising or diagnostic data from anyone, including children. As described above, the hosting provider may process ordinary web-request metadata when someone visits this site or manually checks for an update. This is intended to satisfy COPPA, the GDPR's provisions on children's data, and equivalent laws elsewhere.
Laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data a company holds about you. Towerwright keeps no player account, save, gameplay, analytics or advertising profile. Ordinary website/update request metadata may be handled in the hosting provider's access logs, and a message you choose to send to support is handled by the email provider. Contact us below for a rights request concerning either service.
You are always in full control of the data on your own device:
If you bought the game, the purchase was handled entirely by Apple, Google, or whichever store you used. They process the payment and share no payment details with us. Their privacy policies govern that transaction.
If a future version adds a new transmission, or begins sending save, gameplay, analytics or diagnostic data to Towerwright, this policy will be updated before that version ships and the change will be described here with a new “last updated” date.
